Vision Distribution and the Search for Trusted Partners – A Collaboration with Optoma
For years, Vision Distribution has been seeking high-quality equipment and reliable partners that meet our expectations. One such partner is Optoma, which offers comprehensive display solutions for consumer, educational, corporate, and PRO AV markets.
Thanks to our strong partnership with Optoma Polska, we had the opportunity to test the Optoma ZU820TST, one of the most innovative models currently available in the installation projector market.
Sealed and Durable Design: ZU820TST with IPX5 Certification
Our interest in sealed and low-maintenance optical engines has grown over time. These features, made possible by laser light sources, make projectors virtually maintenance-free in terms of servicing.
The ZU820TST boasts a sealed interior with an IPX5 certification, allowing it to operate 24/7 without interruption.
Technical Specifications: Brightness, Resolution, and Configuration Flexibility
The ZU820TST uses DLP technology with a native WUXGA resolution (1920×1200, aspect ratios 4:3, 16:9, 16:10) and an impressive 8,200 lumens brightness. Its optical throw ratio ranges from 0.75:1 to 0.95:1.
The projector features a Lens Shift function for easy image alignment, with projection distances from 0.79 m to 6.21 m. Additionally, its motorized lens allows for a 1.26x zoom, facilitating precise image positioning on the screen. The lens shift mechanism provides vertical adjustment up to 50% and horizontal adjustment up to 15%, enabling versatile installations in challenging spaces.
Outstanding Color Reproduction with CMS and HDR
Beyond brightness, the ZU820TST prioritizes image quality, incorporating a Color Management System (CMS) for precise color calibration and customization.
The addition of HDR (High Dynamic Range) further enhances detail reproduction, aligning the projector’s performance with the expectations set by other display devices, such as TVs. The ZU820TST also supports 4K video inputs, which it converts to its native resolution for exceptional clarity.
Laser Technology and Maintenance-Free Optical Engine
The DuraCore optical engine in the ZU820TST has earned IP5X certification, featuring advanced cooling solutions that extend the laser diode’s lifespan to an impressive 30,000 hours. This ensures years of reliable performance.
The projector supports 360° installation along its horizontal axis and offers lens shift options to adjust the image without altering the projector’s angle.
One standout feature is its advanced geometric correction, which allows for independent corner adjustments to perfectly align the image, even on uneven surfaces.
